Introduction to Animation

Learn the basics of animation using drawing and cutout animation or a combination of these two forms. Students learn how to make “seamless” 2-D movable puppets to animate. Working with storyboards, key poses, and experimental mediums, students will complete their own short film in class. No prior animation or drawing experience is necessary. We will be working with the animation program Frame Thief. Students are encouraged to experiment with materials, subject matter, and storytelling.
